Our Story

Tabernacle Alexandria is the meeting place between God and mankind, birthed from a foundation of prayer and intentional communion with God. It is the natural evolution of a vision that God gave our Pastor many years ago.

In 2014, Pastor Allen and a small group of passionate college students embarked on a bold journey, founding City of Our God, Inc. For 11 transformative years, City of Our God was a place where praise met purpose and destiny was fulfilled. God’s hand was evident as lives were changed, hearts were healed, the lost found salvation, and the broken were made whole. It was a place where restoration was not just possible – it was inevitable.

In December 2022, Pastor Allen entered a nine-month sabbatical, a season of deep reflection, renewal, and divine preparation. During this sacred time, God began planting fresh vision and direction for the ministry. Upon his return, Pastor Allen, together with the leadership team, launched the “Rebuilding the City” campaign, determined to emerge stronger than ever before.

A pivotal part of this rebirth was the move from Temple Hills, MD to Alexandria, VA. This shift marked the beginning of a new era. City of Our God extended its reach, feeding the hungry, clothing women returning to society, and sowing seeds of hope through powerful Bible studies. As Pastor Allen continued to tabernacle with God, something new emerged – a fresh calling, a deeper purpose, and a renewed mission.

From this intentional time with God, Tabernacle Alexandria was born – a place with a Fresh Mandate, Fresh Manna, and Fresh Mission.

In May 2025, the evolution of City of Our God became reality as Tabernacle Alexandria – The Place Where Prayers Are Answered, God’s Presence is Felt, and Fellowship is Inevitable.
